What Is a Pokémon Gift Card or Code Card?

A Pokémon gift card is a physical or digital card bought at a store, used to add funds toward official merchandise or digital purchases. A code card is something different: it comes tucked inside a real Pokémon Trading Card Game pack, letting the same cards be opened again as a digital pack on the official Pokémon TCG Live app.

Both are issued directly by The Pokémon Company, and no outside page can change what a card unlocks or invent extra value on top of it. If a site promises otherwise, it is not describing how these cards actually work.

Separately, Niantic sometimes shares short promo codes for Pokémon GO through real events or confirmed partners. Redeeming one usually adds a small bundle of useful items to a trainer’s bag — things like Poké Balls or Potions — while the offer is still active.
