How to Find and Wear a Hairstyle

Putting hair on an avatar is a shop visit plus a few taps in the editor. Stay signed in to your own account, and let a parent approve anything that costs Robux.

Find a Style and Wear It

1. Open your own login from a browser or from the Roblox application, and make sure the player name is yours.
2. Open the Marketplace. Choose the Hair category, or search for hair. Filters on the shop can help you look at free items first if you do not want to spend.
3. Open a style you like. Read the price on that page. If it is free, you can add it. If it costs Robux, stop and ask a parent.
4. After the item is on the account, open Avatar from the Roblox menu. Roblox’s help says you pick a category such as hair, then tap the item so it highlights on the character.
5. Want layers? Add another hair you already own, such as bangs over a longer cut. If the editor will not take more, you have hit its limit. Take one piece off before adding another.
6. Adjust the character’s body color if you want it to sit nicely with the hair. Some hairs can be recolored there, and many cannot. If recoloring is missing, choose another listing that was published in the color you like.
7. Save the outfit from the Avatar editor. Next time you can switch back to the whole look, hair included, instead of rebuilding it.

• Search the Real Shop

  The Marketplace on roblox.com is the shelf. A catalog id only opens an item page. It is not a redeem code.

• Own It, Then Equip It

  Adding a free or paid item comes first. The Avatar editor only shows pieces that account owns.

• Layers Have a Ceiling

  A few hairs can stack. When the editor refuses another one, remove something you are not using.

• Spending Needs a Grown-Up

  When a style costs Robux, the adult approves it. Your password is not part of the outfit.
